Cassandra is an operations-driven scientist with a passion for streamlining processes and boosting operational efficiency. As the Facilities Coordinator at IndieBio NY, she serves as the key liaison between building management and the support team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, facilities maintenance, and health and safety compliance. Drawing on her lab management experience, she drives continuous improvements and operational excellence across the board.

Cassandra’s diverse background includes building a start-up academic lab from the ground up while researching infectious disease treatments, contributing to drug discovery as an associate scientist focused on rare and underserved diseases, and revitalizing an established lab dedicated to pre-clinical pancreatic cancer treatments. Her hands-on experience in lab development and research positions her as a unique resource for biotech start-ups seeking guidance in lab management and best practices at the bench.

Cassandra received her dual bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Forensic Science, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of New Haven. She has always been passionate about sustainability and using science to address human and planetary problems. In her free time, she loves travelling, baking fancy desserts, and exploring new places to eat.
