Woojung is an Investment Analyst at HAX, where he helps identify and support startups building solutions for hard problems.

Woojung holds a PhD in Chemistry from Columbia University, where he focused on quantum electronics—specifically developing methods to fabricate single-molecule electronic devices. Prior to working as an analyst, he was a fellow at HAX, sourcing emerging technologies and early-stage startups for potential investment. He also worked at Columbia Technology Ventures, evaluating early-stage technologies in materials science, electronics, therapeutics, and software, assessing their market potential, and supporting the commercialization process.

Woojung previously served as a sniper on the Special Guard Team in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through soccer, bouldering, and swimming.
