Formlabs is a desktop 3D printing company currently working with US hospitals to 3D print nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs needed to collect samples for COVID-19 testing. A Formlabs printer can produce approximately 300 print swabs per build with the same material as Surgical Guide Resin. The company received the FDA’s Class I exemption and its swabs are now being used for patients at University of San Francisco and Northwell Health.
