At ZymoChem, we are developing next-generation microbes with efficient biosynthetic pathways for making a variety of industrials chemicals from renewable feedstocks. Unlike existing microbial processes, our technology is designed to eliminate the loss of the sugar’s carbon as CO2 while producing the target chemicals. Thus, our patent-pending carbon conservation technology increases theoretical yields as much as 50%, resulting in breakthrough economics compared to state-of-the-art technologies for the biological production of chemicals.

We are located in Berkeley, California, and our company has received R&D funding from several SBIR Phase I and Phase II grants, multiple accelerators (Indie Bio, Breakout Labs, and StartX), and private investors.
