Company details

Carbonade makes syngas directly – in one step – from just air and water. Carbonade’s liquid direct air capture technology utilizes the CO2 present in air in a single step to make CO. In that same process, they also produce green hydrogen. This hydrogen and the CO combine to produce syngas, all in one integrated process. Then, with partners, this syngas is made into sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs). Miraculously, this all happens at low temperatures – not the expensive 900˚C required by competitors. Low energy = low cost. The company is a spinout from Professor Ronny Neumann’s lab at the Weizmann Institute, where they’ve developed a proprietary electrocatalyst that transforms the CO2 while it’s still in the capture solvent.
