Norm Anderson

As SOSV’s Video Content Director, Norm Anderson is tasked with highlighting the great work of our programs, our startups, our entrepreneurs and the ecosystems we build globally. He is responsible for the creation of SOSV’s Youtube series, which is dedicated to introducing VCs to the entrepreneurial community.

Norm is a daytime Emmy-nominated co-executive producer, writer and documentary filmmaker with credits on a variety of projects – from Discovery’s Shark Week to shows on CNBC, the CW, Spike, E!, VH1 and others. While earning an MFA from USC, Norm focused on screenwriting and documentary filmmaking and was mentored by Oscar-winning documentarian Mark Harris. Since then, filmmaking projects have brought him to Cambodia, Malawi, Ghana, Europe, Peru and all over the States.

Norm has been a finalist for the Sundance and Film Independent screenwriting labs and the winner of a Sloan writing fellowship. After undergrad studies in Music and German at Williams College, he taught English in Vienna, Austria on a Fulbright grant.

Born and raised in the New England woods without running water, electricity or television, Norm now has all three, and has even been on TV – doing so well on Wheel of Fortune that Pat Sajak proclaimed, “Norm is living proof that electricity is way overrated”.
