Nick Plante

Director of Technology, SOSV

Nick Plante is a product developer and software architect who leads product and technology efforts at SOSV. An advisor to HAX since its founding in 2012, Nick joined SOSV full-time in 2015, and now lends his experience as a product architect, developer and entrepreneur to help companies across our accelerator programs and portfolio.

Nick holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University in Boston. Prior to joining SOSV, Nick co-founded several companies, including Wefunder, Docmeta, and Mogotest, and consulted for a variety of businesses ranging from small product startups to Fortune 500 companies. He also created the Rumble hackathon series, the largest online development competition of its kind. He has made significant contributions in the areas of developer ecosystem tools (Docmeta, Mogotest), open source, e-commerce (Wantful), and crowdfunding (Wefunder and the US JOBS Act, shaping the future of equity crowdfunding).

Nick is passionate about open source, democratization of finance, urban and local sustainability, AI, machine learning, and automation, and improving the world through technology. He is also a published author and a board member at a local-first non-profit.
