Modern Universal Antivenom
At Venomyx we are developing and bringing to market novel antitoxin therapeutics to make treatment safe, effective, and available around the world.
The first market we are addressing is the large ($1B) and highly underserved snake antivenom market. In 2017, over 5 Million people around the world will be bitten by a venomous snake. Of those, approximately 125,000 of them will die and many thousands more will be permanently disabled.
Currently available antivenom relies on antiquated medical technology in which large animals such as horses are injected with snake venom to produce anitobodes. This results in a product with limited efficacy, dangerous side effects, and expensive production process.
We are creating the world’s first modern and portable antivenom that harnesses the power of modern biotechnology to provide a universal treatment for snakebite. Our antivenom has already shown preclinical success as a safer, more effective, and more affordable treatment for the millions of people affected by snakebite.
