Taro Araya is a Colombian-born Japanese National who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Marketing from the Universidad de Los Andes (Bogota, Columbia). He later went on to complete his MBA at TRIUM, a combined degree issued by London School of Economics, New York University, and HEC Paris. Between 1995-2010.
He worked with Pintucarros and Suki, two organizations he founded dedicated to the automotive industry and business automation. He also gained experience working with multinational corporations through his work doing HR consulting for Amrop International, systems integration with Texins and finally with Ericsson where he began his work in the Telecom industry.
His international work experience has taken him on assignments across the Caribbean, Northern Latin America, North America and South East Asia. At the moment he resides in Myanmar with his family.
In March 2017, he founded GOAMA, an organization with the vision of creating happiness and with a mandate to create a subscription game club to the world. GOAMA focuses on allowing user to have access to frictionless casual game playing without the hassle of advertising, in-app purchases or download fees; access to all the games you want all for a simple one time fee.
Taro has been a member of several boards, including both non-profit and for-profit enterprises, as well as mentoring different initiatives that foster innovation and entrepreneurship that work to alleviate poverty and improve quality of life.
In 2014, in recognition of his exceptional work, Taro was selected by the Colombian government as one of 100 outstanding Colombians living abroad and contributing successfully to society on or behalf of Colombia.
